Image Generators

Really enjoyed these sites. Found lots of "cool" things, that I can use in/with my hobby(scrapbooking). Pity some of the sites were blocked and so couldn't have a good look but will definitely be looking up these sites at home.

My favourites were Fd's flickr Toys and letter James.

igoogle

This was fun and quite easy to set up. Pity some of the add ons/ins don't work though.
Now I have set my own page up with tabs etc. I will probably use everyday and keep adding to as required.

Would I like to work at Google - I suppose it could be interesting!!

Google Docs

This is cool! Useful for documents that several people are working on. Can see real benefits for the use of this. Could give some competition to Microsoft Office suites, but I don't think would take over from it.

Google Maps

Another thing I have used and found helpful. I think its good that you can check out a place and help familiarise yourself with the area before you go there (especially when travelling overseas or interstate). It could also be helpful if you were considering buying/renting - you could check out the neighbours before committing yourself.

Podcasts & Vodcasts

Another new thing for me. I still don't own an iPod or any other of these media players. Don't have any plans to buy one in the near future either. Its a good tool. I find it amazing how swiftly technology is developing. An idea one minute and out there the next. How does the average person keep up with it all???

Edit a Wiki

Will have to go back to this one, I have posted a blog, but there weren't any others to trying editing on.

Read About Wikis

Yes can see there appeal. Not being a teacher I wouldn't use it for delivery purposes.

Discover Delicious

Mmmm, I can see the usefulness of this page. Have even added a link to my RSS feed. Could save a heap of time in searching the web for info you might require.

Social Networking

Hey something I am familiar with.
Have not visited MySpace before but have heard lots about it and not all of it good. Quite a few friends and family are on Facebook so have visited this site a bit (even have my own page).
I am not completely in the 'dark ages'!

Good sites for finding 'old' school/work buddies or even lost relatives.

SlideShare

Did you find useful presentations?
Yes I did, you can view many different things, some very thought provoking.

How might Slideshare be useful in the classroom?
By viewing things already created, (no need to create your own stuff), items can be viewed in student's own time, can be shared with others.

YouTube

Interesting site, if you had lots of time to kill (or waste). Can't believe some of the stuff people put on this site though (no shame!) My choice of video is Why Kids need Pets. The baby laughing at the dog is very cute. Yes there are components of this that could be applied to teaching methods.

Flickr

Yeah! Now we're cooking! I have found something I "understand" and see the point of. Sorry its not a photo of my campus but I don't have my digital camera with me but I did have this in my file.

RSS feeds

1 more thing done, but again, I still fail to understand the point of it all.
I use the computer for what I require and manage okay.

my first time

OMG! The things you have to learn today, whatever happened to - computers are supposed to make life easier. Everyday there is something new to learn and its not alway easy for the more mature generation, its not like I'm NOT willing to learn but boy do I really need to know all this stuff? Is it really going to make a difference to my life? I don't think so.
It may only make me a bit more savvy on what is going on in 'computer land" and understand what my grandkids go on about but I really don't think its going to be life changing.

How did I cope with "extend your browser" task. I did it, but still not sure if I understand the point of it all.
